K–12 STEM Programs

Recent college enrollment data shows that nearly half of all Vestavia Hills High School graduates are choosing to pursue degrees in STEM — science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM-related fields such as engineering, computer technologies, and healthcare are among Alabama's fastest growing job markets*. If approved by voters, VHCS will create new opportunities in STEM learning by adding a weekly STEM class for all students in grades K–5, beginning this fall.

K–12 World Languages

Nine out of ten VHHS graduates choose to take at least one world language class in high school, and many become fluent in multiple languages. Nearly 700 internationally-owned businesses are located in Alabama*, giving students who are proficient in multiple languages a competitive edge. If approved by voters, VHCS will offer new language learning opportunities by adding a weekly World Language class for all students in grades K–5, starting this fall.

Student & Teacher Supports

Vestavia Hills students and teachers are unparalleled, and our community has long believed that they deserve unparalleled support. If approved by voters, VHCS will add additional counseling resources and support to ensure our schools have the capacity to meet the individual needs of all students. VHCS will also add an instructional partner within each school to provide one-on-one coaching to teachers as they work to improve their craft.
